Frequently Asked Questions
How much does it cost to purchase an Urban Spa Franchise?
There is a franchise fee of $30,000, plus the cost of fitting out your Urban Spa Day Spa. This can range from $50,000 to $300,000 depending on the site and location. Existing stores range from $200,000 – $500,000.
What’s include in the Franchise fee and shop fit out?
The franchise package is a “Turn Key” Package. That is, the site will be given to you ready to operate. Some inclusions are;
- Training
- Fit-out of premises to Urban Spa high standards and specifications
- Signage
- Equipment
- Full stock including Urban Spa retail range, professional range and consumables
- Computer system, stationery and uniforms
- Advertising launch
Is there an up-front Franchise fee?
Yes, $30,000 + GST
What are the Royalty fees?
Urban Spa has a small weekly Management Fee.
What about Advertising costs?
There are no ongoing advertising costs. Urban Spa will provide you with all advertising material for use in your local area. Local advertising cost is the responsibility of the Franchisee as every area may have its own marketing strategy. Urban Spa Management will work with you to determine what strategy is right for your area and day spa.
What Support is provided?
You will have direct access to your Area Manager at all times. They will either help you remotely or visit your salon. You will have the opportunity to attend all Management, Sales and Training Seminars held at The Australian Academy of Beauty & Spa Therapy as well as in-salon training.
Do I need to be a beauty therapist or beauty expert to become an Urban Spa Franchisee?
It is ideal that you are a Beauty Therapist as it is essential that you know whether or not your staff is performing the correct treatments and providing your clients with the highest quality of service. If you do not have your Diploma of Beauty Therapy, Urban Spa is able to provide you with your Diploma of Beauty Therapy at a discounted rate. You will also have the opportunity to complete the Urban Spa Management Program.
Who chooses the site?
Urban Spa will help you choose an appropriate sight for your Urban Spa. We are currently negotiating various sites in all states throughout Australia. Urban Spa will assist you with Lease negotiations and other commercial requirements.
How long will it take to open a store?
There is no general rule of time for a store to open as it depends on a number of issues. Timing can be from 2 months – 12 months. This does not include the Diploma of Beauty Therapy course, if required.
How much can I expect to earn in an Urban Spa Franchise
The actual earnings depend on a number of issues ranging from store location, time spent working both in and on your business, location and economic conditions.
How long is the Franchise Agreement Term?
All Franchise Agreements offer a 5-year term with an additional 5 +5 +5 year option.
How many staff do I need?
Initially, two fully qualified Beauty Therapists and 2 apprentices and building your team to 5-7 staff members depending on the growth of the salon.
