Urban Spa began as Suzanne’s Home of Beauty, Baulkham Hills (1980) and has grown to become the company it is today. In 1983, we opened a second salon in Castle Hill and a Beauty Academy was added to the Baulkham Hills salon. By 1990 the Australian Academy of Beauty Therapy was well established and in 1998 it became one of the first beauty therapy training schools to be Government accredited.
Suzanne’s Home of Beauty moved to larger premises in Castle Hill and was renamed Emma’s Secret. Client satisfaction and high demand for our services saw us open salons in Wahroonga, Beecroft and Chatswood over the following years.
The need for a quality Australian-made skin care range became evident leading us to develop our own products, which were used professionally in the salons and available for retail at an affordable price.
In 2006, the company launched its new concept day spa and the first Urban Spa located at Breakfast Point was opened. It offered the latest in beauty therapy with a spa experience. The Emma’s Secret salons were then transformed into the modern Urban Spa. Over the last 10 years, Urban Spa has flourished, opening 12 Spas throughout Sydney, including Double Bay, Kellyville and Rozelle.
